Bell Primary Anzac Assembly

On Friday 24th January at 12pm the Bell Primary Student Leadership Team ran a moving Anzac Assembly. All the students at Bell Primary were in attendance to pay tribute to the Anzacs.

This special assembly marked 100 years since the first Anzacs landed at Gallipoli. The students told the story of when Anzac began and discussed what we have been doing at Bell Primary over the last couple of years to learn about Anzac. Alex from Grade 6 told the story of her grandfather who fought during WW2 and paid tribute to all those soldiers who have served in wars for our country. Then Chelsea discussed the Anzac art installation designed by Matilda in Grade 6 which was followed by the Grade 2 musical ensemble who played ‘Flying Man’ in tribute to the RAAF. A selection of poetry was read including some written by Moya’s 1/2 class last year. The students then led the school in the Ode, followed by the last post and a minute’s silence. Finally, the school sang the national anthem.
