In 2014 a group of Grade 3-6 students joined the 5,000 Poppies Lunchtime Art Club. Over a term, the club and the school community produced over 300 sewn and knitted poppies. The art teacher, Chelsea and an integration aide, Gill (Gill is a legacy wife) asked students and teachers to dedicate a poppy to a family member who fought for Australia. Gill wrote the names and the war they fought in on calico and sewed them to the back of our poppies. Gill incorporated the dedicated poppies into a fabric wreath (seen below). In late 2014 we sent our poppies to the 5,000 poppies project and they were exhibited at fed square in 2015.
